My name is Rebecca and my grandmother had to leave Berlin in 1939.
She became a British citizen and managed to have a good life, although so much of her “before” life and feelings had to be buried, as were all the members of her family.
My mother and I started the naturalisation process in the summer of 2023 and today received the confirmation that we will soon have our German passports!!, and with them we will have back part of what was taken away so many years ago and it’s all been so easy thanks to Sara, who’s been wonderful helping and guiding us in the whole process.

I can heartily recommend GCR. Sara and Alexandra are very helpful, responsive, easy to work with and informative. They made sure I had gathered all the needed documents and provided all the German translation for the applications. My father and grandparents were German Jewish refugees who were forced to leave Germany in the late 1930s. I applied for myself, my brother, my two daughters, and my niece and nephew. We just learned that all of our applications for citizenship were approved. We were told it would take about 2 years.  From the time of our application submission, approval took only 23 months.  I have no complaints. I think GCR’s charges are very fair and compare quite favourably to alternative approaches.

We had 4 family members who were approved for German Citizenship based on the work done by Sarah Leshem and German Citizen Restoration (GCR).  Although the process took over 2 years, we now have dual citizenship. The organization:
