As we enter 2023 and GCR turns 4 years old (how did that happen?), I reflect on our journey so far.
Formed in the aftermath of the Brexit decision, we are a specialist team focusing exclusively on the restoration of German citizenship. Alexandra Margalith is our citizenship expert with 20 years of experience restoring German citizenship, and myself, in charge of client services. Our singular focus ensures in depth knowledge of the German authorities’ exact demands and processes, so there are no reasons our clients’ applications are denied or delayed.
Our service begins with a free eligibility consultation to assess each client’s individual case and determine the correct legal pathway to restore / acquire German citizenship. The applications we handle range from Article 116, Section 15’s and most recently Section 5’s. Where applicable, the consultation is followed by either research in Germany to source required documental evidence, or straight onto preparation for application stage. At this stage, we assist clients with preparing their evidence and completing the official application forms required for submission to the authorities. Since setting up in 2019, from humble beginnings with a handful of clients, we have worked tirelessly to establish GCR and secure our reputation as German citizenship experts. The number of clients has been rapidly expanding and by now we have accomplished global coverage. Almost 50% of our clients are based in the US, the other half are a mix of UK, Europe, Australia and South America. To date, we have assisted hundreds of clients (with hundreds currently in processing at the authorities) to obtain German citizenship, the pre requisite to acquiring EU passports and the associated privileges.
Our biggest motivation is positive client feedback, our high referral rate is the single most endorsing acknowledgement that we are succeeding in this mission. Often asked what our success rate is, Alexandra and I are proud to answer that not one single application has been refused by the authorities.

- Our first clients receiving their Section 15 naturalisations and collecting their citizenships
- Our business became truly global with over 50% based outside the UK
- 27 citizenships granted via article 116 for one rather large family!
- Receiving fantastic client testimonials and over 25 referrals from past clients
- Met so many interesting & inspiring clients, learning of their family’s story and motivation to reclaim their family’s citizenship
Our aspirations for 2023 – primarily, to keep receiving those notifications from the authorities confirming our clients’ applications have been successful. We will continue to strive for clients being 100% delighted with our service so that referrals remain bountiful. As we pause and take stock of our achievements, we thank all our clients past and present, who trusted us with their applications and to support them on their citizenship journey.
